The 1st day of Pre-K

9/7/2010 was the 1st day of Pre-K for the lil Stud. I didn't have any problems with him crying or anything which was a huge blessing for me and made my day a little easier! It truly takes a special talent to deal with other people's children for several hours a day. A few of the kids were crying and 1 parent was even made to leave because she wasn't helping the situation. I patiently waited to see how my child would react and I can honestly say he is my child! My parents always remind me of how sassy my mouth was when I was young child and  I guess its only natural my son would have a smart mouth as well. Well after about 10 minutes of me watching him, he turned to me and said "Mom this school is for little kids go to your own school!" The funny thing is the 1st week of kindergarten my parents say I also did something similar by telling my mother I didn't want her picking me up at my classroom anymore because I wasn't a baby!!!!!  I guess as parents we some how mark our children, amazing! I'm prepared for the journey that the school days bring us. Its almost been a month and he has already learned the months of the year song, the days of the week and how to walk in a single file line. He comes home and practices his letters, which he already did because that's what they taught him in daycare.  He knows how to write and spell his 1st and last name. We are working on the middle name currently. He is trying to learn how to read which is really cute to watch. I'm off to put together outfits for the week.

Lil Stud's 1st day of school. The day care van had just pulled up and I was standing there happily with my camera in hand!

Once in the classroom he decided he'd play with the computer! I still didn't cry!

This is the 3rd day of school and he seems excited to go, but trust me he is the clingy kid we see on tv when I drop him off at the daycare!

Breakfast money

So I thought I'd see if the little Stud could handle a simple taks today. I usually put his breakfast/lunch money in a zip lock bag and his teacher gets it out of his backpack. Well I put the money in his pocket today. I said it a least 10 times, make sure you give your teacher the money so you can eat breakfast. Well I picked him up this evening and I asked did you remember to give your teacher the money this morning? He said Yes mom. So a few hours later I decide to check his pocket and what do I pull out, the money still folded the same way that I folded it! So I ask him, whats this and his response was Oh I found that. LOL. Its amazing how he has learned how to twist the truth at such a young age.

Introduction of The little Stud

Welcome to the life and times of my 4 year old son, Dakarion. I have decided to start blogging about my son because I would like to keep a record of the life we share and the times we share. Raising him is not just about teaching him how to respect himself and others but raising him is also a learning experience for me as well. We spend alot of time talking, well he does most of the talking and I do alot of listening, but I also try to answer his questions the best I can and make sure he understands the answer that I have given. I have enjoyed the 4 years we have had together. This month we started a new chapter in our lives, Pre-k. So far it is going well. The only transition problem that we have is the fact he has spent the last 3 years with the same group of children for the most part and now he spends the majority of his day with a new set of friends and the later part of his day with his old friends.  He seems to be having a hard time dealing with the fact he has friends at school and friends at daycare. Luckily for me the daycare is doing an excellent job with helping me manage this minor situation.  I owe alot to the daycare. They played a huge role in him learning how to walk, talk, potty and socialize. Now they have the duty of taking him to and from school 4 days a week, while I take him once a week. I hope to share the funny and not so funny times that Dakarion and I share.

We are about to get ready for school in the morning. I can't wait to see what our conversations tomorrow will bring!

Take care and I hope everyone who follows enjoys.
